Diploma in Montessori Teaching

This Diploma in Montessori Education has been designed by Phyllis Wallbank ; who trained directly under Dr. Maria Montessori and become Head of Gatehouse Learning Center in London, a model Montessori School. Phyllis Wallbank has been an examiner for the Association of Montessori Internationale and Montessori in USA. The course aims to provide all students with a sound theoretical and practical understanding in the principles of the Montessori method.

Admission Requirements

 

•   Have obtained at least 5 credits in SPM / GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent qualification
    with a credit in English ;
•   Proficient in both oral and written English;
•   Have a strong interest in teaching young children.
•   Must be at least 18 years old.

Course Contents

 

Total Course Duration: 130 hours

  • The course, which is divided into 8 sections, includes Montessori philosophy, child psychology and methodology. Students will be taught to present and use the various Montessori Equipment to develop language, mathematical, science and practical life skill in children in a purpose built room. For each Module participants have to complete an assignment to demonstrate that they have fully understood the relevant section. They will also be required to read and discuss the critical readings outlining the philosophy and methods of Maria Montessori. Participants are allocated tutors who will assist throughout the entire course

Course Assessment
