The
postgraduate courses in Law are taught in a variety of ways to enable
study in a flexible environment according to individual needs and
circumstances.
Most
units are offered on campus (either intensively over two weeks or
across the entire semester) and in distance education mode.
For
those who choose to study on campus we offer a weekly three hour
seminar, usually in the early evening. In most cases, the class
sizes are small (especially in LLM units) and students have a unique
opportunity to interact with each other and the lecturer. All on-campus
teaching is conducted at Deakin's Melbourne campus at Toorak.
Electronic
Conferencing
Deakin
University is a world leader in the use of electronic conferencing
and communications technology in education. These courses are supported
by electronic teaching and learning and high quality course materials
including lecture outlines, extra readings and tutorial problems.
A computer-mediated
conferencing facility is used extensively as a teaching tool. It
enables students to access course materials, receive lecture notes
and interact with staff and fellow students.
