About
Bristol UWE
The
University of the West of England, Bristol (Bristol UWE) is one
of Britain's most popular universities with more than 26,000 students
and a 1,000-strong academic staff. In our substantial student community
you will meet people from a wide variety of backgrounds- a great
recipe for a lively intellectual and social mix.
The
University's history goes back
as far as 1595, representing a long and well established tradition
of first class professional education and training. We are justifiably
proud of providing our students the knowledge and skills they need
to succeed in their chosen career. Close links with industry and
the professions ensure that our courses are relevant and innovative
as well as providing the foundation for our knowledge
transfer activities.
The
University has four campuses
in and around the city of Bristol encompassing 9 faculties
and teaching some 600 degree programmes across a wide range of disciplines.
In addition, we also have an Associate Faculty in Gloucestershire
and regional centres in Bath, Gloucestershire and Swindon. Each
enjoys a varied social life of its own, but students are welcome
to use the facilities of all campuses.
A
full range of services and facilities
is available to support staff and students at the University.

at the University.
UWE
is proud of its positive reputation among international students,
and provides a number of specialist services to ensure that their
stay in the UK is a happy and fulfilling experience. You will find
a lively international community at UWE.
Advisers
are available throughout your stay to help with immigration, financial
problems and other welfare matters. Some Faculties also have international
student tutors who can provide assistance. A welcome event is arranged
at the start of the academic year and Faculties organise a number
of induction activities for their own students. |
